I am a Dutch girl with Hungarian blood running through my veins (that’s also where my name comes from). My home town is Bussum and most of the time I work as an event manager. But…. I would love to work in conservation, follow my heart and make a difference. I have travelled and worked in different countries, but Africa has stolen my heart.
In the last two years I have worked as a volunteer at the Siyafunda Wildlife Conservation project in Makalali Game Reserve South Africa and with Game Rangers International at the Elephant Orphanage in Kafue National Park Zambia. I feel privileged and grateful that I can join the EIE trip for 3 weeks. This is such an amazing initiative by power women to take further steps in saving the elephant from extinction. It really excites me to travel with like minded, heartwarming people through Africa, visiting interesting projects and meeting the beautiful people behind it working so hard for the most iconic animal on earth.
My dog, Jack Russell Terrier Teddy, I will miss the most while I am on the trip. But there won’t be a lot of time to think about her, because we will enjoy so many great experiences, chat, discuss and learn with and from each other and give the elephant conservation a helping hand. That’s what I am looking forward to the most.
Abstract Fact: elephants are so special, they can move me to tears…
