I was born in Bloemfontein and spend my early years in Durban, from there I moved to the slopes of Table Mountain where I completed my Honours in Business Science Marketing. I was the Cape Union Mart Marketing Coordinator and K-Way Brand Manager for 3-years. While this sounds very city-slicker, my passion lies in the bush, and I’m a conservationist at heart – most comfortable in khakis with binoculars strapped across my chest. My passion developed during family trips to Kruger. After qualifying as a FGASA Field Guide in 2011, I worked at Phinda Private Game Reserve. I’ve spent a month doing humanitarian work along the Zambezi with the Kingsley Holgate Foundation. And have helped guide/mentor a group of young female ambassadors on a Rhino Leadership Trail in the Imfolozi Wilderness with Project Rhino KZN.
I couldn’t be more excited to do my bit for conservation. Meeting those characters who have been my conservation heroes since childhood is a dream. Immersing myself in the wonders of our beautiful continent. Connecting with the land, the animals and the people. To do whatever I can in my power to protect an animal that is very close to my heart - so that one day my own children can appreciate them in the wild. I have a passion for wildlife photography and my background in marketing will help as we attempt to wiggle our way into the hearts of the media and public, gaining awareness for elephant conservation. My love for the bush and qualification as a guide will also come in handy as our team of intrepid explorers wander through the wilds of Africa, with lessons around every bend. Bring on the open road, campfire nights, immersion in wilderness with the incredible women that form this team.
